Miami Rush in conjunction with Florida Youth Soccer Association (FYSA) and US Youth Soccer (USYS) is excited to announce the formation of the USYS Sunshine Conference Girls Academy Division — the latest Club vs. Club Division within the USYS National League Conferences.
From the USYS press release;
“The Girls Academy Division has secured commitments from nine clubs, including: Chargers SC, Florida Rush, IdeaSport Soccer Academy, IMG Academy, Jacksonville FC, Miami Rush, South Florida Football Academy, FC Tampa Rangers and West Florida Flames SC. “We are excited to introduce the Sunshine Conference Girls Academy Division and provide a platform for some of the top players in Florida to challenge themselves on a regular basis to further their development,” said Chris Webb, Director of Operations & Event Management for USYS.”
Miami Rush will be the only club in Miami Dade County participating in the Sunshine Conference Girls Academy League, competing against top ranked teams in Florida and possible regional and national events.
What this means to our players;
- Scheduled league play versus top clubs across the state of Florida (the 9 clubs listed above).
- Regular season schedule which does allow high school aged players to play high school soccer, as the league breaks from about mid-November to mid-February.
- Enhanced pathways to State, Regional and National competitions to include; FYSA State Cup, USYS National Championship League and USYS National League P.R.O. (Player Recruitment Opportunity).
- Individual player exposure/recruitment at the highest level State, Regional and National competitions.
We believe this step forward will further help consolidate the top talent in Miami Dade County. With our local club resources, the national resources available to us from Rush Soccer and Capelli Sport combined with this achieved level of competition, we have positioned ourselves to even further elevate girls soccer in the County we serve. We are extremely excited to be able to bring this and more to our soccer community.
Thank you,
Rebeca Rafols, President
